History

Iron bridge opened 1883 under the Shrewsbury (Kingsland) Bridge Acts 1873 and 1880, still privately owned. Tolls revised by orders in 1995 and 2011 (max 30p); the company charged 20p from 2012 and moved to 30p with new contactless barriers in early 2025 (press).
