How and when to pay
- Pay in advance or by midnight on the day after you cross, seven days a week including bank holidays. At midnight an Unpaid Toll Notification is triggered and a £25 admin fee is added to the toll owed. Account holders are charged automatically about two days after travel (provided the account has credit).
- Online at toll.humberbridge.co.uk (guest crossings or account), the Humber Bridge Toll app for Apple and Android, cash or card at any PayPoint location, or by phone to customer services on 01482 235500. Toll booths are being removed; no cash at the bridge.

- Mobility Disabled Concession: free crossings for people receiving the higher rate mobility component of DLA with a fully tax-exempt vehicle (V5 'disabled'); requires a Humber Bridge Toll account, £10 one-off registration and £5 annual renewal; a Blue Badge alone does not qualify
- Castle Hill Hospital concession: south bank patients travelling for ongoing oncology treatment, administered by the Queen's Centre
- Police, NHS, fire brigade, Royal Mail, government and military vehicles cross free once registered as exempt
History
Authorised by the Humber Bridge Act 1959, built 1972 to 1981, first open to traffic June 1981 and officially opened by the Queen on 17 July 1981. Tolls were frozen from 2012 (car £1.50, van £4.00, HGV £12.00 with 10% off for HumberTAG). The increase was announced 27 June 2025, delayed from late 2025, and took effect at midnight on 30/31 January 2026 with the launch of the ANPR Humber Bridge Toll system (fully live 2 February 2026), when the payment window changed to midnight the day after and the admin fee rose from £15 to £25.
