History
Opened 8 December 1864 as a toll bridge; toll raised from 50p to £1 by SI 2014/926 (in force 31 March 2014, first increase since 2006 order). Went cashless. Trust consulted 25 September to 7 November 2025 on a £1.50 toll indexed to construction inflation minus 0.5%, targeted for January 2027, and applied to the Secretary of State in 2026.
