What does one tyre, fully fitted cost in the UK?
£49 to £110 fitted at an independent garage, VAT included, on a mainstream car. The midpoint of that range is about £80, and where you land inside it is decided by access, parts and wheel size rather than by the garage's postcode.
The wheel comes off, the old tyre is broken down off the rim, a new valve goes in, the new tyre is fitted and the wheel is balanced. A fully fitted price at a national retailer covers all of that plus VAT and disposal of the old casing. Size and brand tier do nearly all the work in the price. For 205/55 R16, the most common size on UK roads, Blackcircles list fully fitted tyres from £48.64 for a budget brand to £109.99 for a Michelin CrossClimate. A larger wheel, a run flat, a higher load rating or a 4x4 tyre costs more than the top of that range, and no published figure for those was found, so this range should be read as the common size rather than a ceiling. If you buy tyres elsewhere and only pay for fitting, Kwik Fit publish £20.50 per tyre for fitting, balancing, a valve and disposal.
