What does track rod end cost in the UK?
£70 to £150 fitted at an independent garage, VAT included, on a mainstream car. The midpoint of that range is about £110, and where you land inside it is decided by access, parts and wheel size rather than by the garage's postcode.
The old joint is undone from the steering arm, wound off the track rod and the new one wound on to the same length so the toe setting starts close to where it was. ClickMechanic quote £90 to £150, around an hour, with their by marque averages running £97 for an Audi to £149 for a Toyota. Two things change the total. Alignment afterwards is not optional, since the toe has moved and a wrong setting will scrub a new tyre out in a few thousand miles, and that adds around £40 for one axle or £80 for both. And a joint that has seized into the arm sometimes takes the arm or the whole track rod with it, which is a different and dearer job.
